Bennett's Blessing in Las Vegas

Bennett is a cutie and we got to see 4 grandkids at once, I did not get any pictures of Colin (because I left my camera at the Hotel) but got Papa playing with the girls and Jaime and Bennett.

Visit to St George

Tom and I took off for a few days after Bennett's blessing and when to St. George UT, got to go to the Temple and see some sites. We had a nice time.

Shelby turns 5!

Shelby's birthday is on a Monday this year, so we had a little party yesterday, we had a nice time. I just can't believe our girl is 5 and in Kindergarden now.

Mom had a indian peach tree on the side of the hill, I gave it some water this summer and got quite a few beautiful peaches.

Fair 09

Tom with second prize for his white fudge with peanut butter, me with my whole wheat bread and Ketcher cookies. A really nice fair this year, not too hot.

Fair entries

Stopped by the fair last night to see how our entries did. I got a first on my whole whear bread, a third on the cookies. It is interesting how they judge things, I need to attend the judging next year to see what they are looking for.

How to make Tamales

Purchase you masa or make your own, in Merced we have San Miguel Market and they have wonderful masa for $.99 a lb, very reasonable and is the best. I like to buy early in the morning and assemble when I get home.

Fair Entries

Today we made our fair entries. I only have 2 this year, tricks with a mix (cake mix) - we call them "Ketcher" cookies because of a good friend who ate a pan of them one day, also made whole wheat bread. Tom has entered 4 different fudge types. Here are some pictues of our entries.
